Call for Contributions 2026

Each year, we create an event through collaboration between a host community and a programming team. If you are interested in being a part of hosting a Communities Conference event or helping to curate the programme then you are welcome to get in touch. For information about contributing to this year's programme see below.

2026: Growing the Movement

The UK Communities Conference 2026
9th - 12th July 2026, Braziers Park, Oxfordshire

Theme: Growing the Movement

Deadline for Submissions: 3rd April

Submissions via Google Forms or email.

If you would like to lead a conference session then please fill out this form by early April. We’ll review the offers and put the programme together by the end of April. Workshop leaders and speakers will be offered discounted tickets, which include all meals, for the whole event. We don’t want cost to be a barrier and fully subsidised tickets are available.

This year, we’ll be focusing on how we can grow the intentional communities movement in the UK and beyond, looking for ways to develop the means and meaning that enables us to live collectively. We’ll host group spaces to encourage more networking between existing communities, and we’ll provide potential founders with information and opportunities to share their plans. We want to create a tangible sense of shared purpose, and for us to come away from the weekend with connections and ideas that we can act on, and which will continue to grow over the following years.

We are particularly interested in contributions that help us develop our modes of shared living, connecting communities with each other and with different organisations, and addressing common issues. We aim for a diverse programme, including showcases of existing communities, facilitated workshops, roundtables, open spaces, and creative and playful sessions. Some of the programme will be curated by us, and some of it will grow out of your suggestions and submissions.

We’ll consider contributions of all kinds, and we’re especially interested in offers that:

  • Explore or develop new models for collective living

  • Connect existing communities

  • Link the movement with other organisations

We also encourage workshops with innovative and experimental formats, especially where participants will have opportunities to express their creativity.

The event is a fully catered camping weekend, with limited indoor accommodation, hosted this year by the community at Braziers Park. We have an archive of some of the previous sessions and programmes.
